Frequently asked questions

What is a contribution rate?

While players can wager on many Casino games available on Golden Nugget Online Gaming, not every game contributes the same percentage toward a Casino Deposit Bonus’s playthrough requirement. Here are the current contribution rates:

Table with three rows categorizing gaming contributions. First row: 'Most Slots, Rocket, Keno, Virtual Sports' with a contribution of 100%, depicted with a hand holding cards and a money bag icon. Second row: 'Blackjack, Other Table Games, Live Dealer Games, Roulette, & Select Slots*' with a 20% contribution, similar icons follow. Third row: 'Craps, Video Poker, Baccarat, & Other Variety Games' with 0% contribution, and corresponding icons. Note: An asterisk indicates that some slots have different contribution rates. The table background is black with white and yellow text for high contrast.

  • *To find more information about Select Slots you can go to the What is a Playthrough requirement page.
  • Important Notes:
    • This table of game categories and respective contribution percentages is subject to change.
    • Any games with a 0% contribution rate will not contribute toward the playthrough requirement for a Casino Deposit Bonus. Any winnings earned from a 0% contribution rate game would be considered locked winnings until the playthrough requirement is met.

What is a playthrough requirement (“PTR”)?

A playthrough requirement is the amount you must wager (“playthrough”) on eligible casino games to complete the bonus offer, and for the associated winnings to be converted to cash for withdrawal.

The playthrough requirement is determined using the matched Casino Bonus Funds and the playthrough multiplier stated in the offer.

As an example only: The Casino Deposit Bonus matches 50% of your deposit up to $1,500, requiring you to bet 10 times the total amount. If you deposit $3,000, you get $1,500 as a bonus, which you must bet 10 times along with your original $3,000 deposit. However, the contribution towards the betting requirement varies by game.

Graphic displaying a casino deposit bonus offer. On the left, a stack of cash with dollar signs, symbolizing a deposit amount. The accompanying text reads 'Deposited: $3,000'. On the right, a money bag with a '50%' label and an arrow indicates the text 'Casino Deposit Bonus Matched: $1,500 Casino Bonus Funds'. The background is black with text and icons in white and yellow for clear visibility.

You then play through the original deposit ($3,000), and the $1,500 in Casino Bonus Funds 10 times. However, not every game contributes the same percentage toward a Casino Deposit Bonus’s play through.

For a cumulative playthrough see the below examples:

  • Cumulative playthrough total of $15,000 ($1,500 x 10 = $15,000).
    • For example, playing a qualifying slots game would have a 100% Contribution Rate.
  • Cumulative playthrough total of $75,000 ($1,500 x 10 / 20% = $75,000).
    • For example, playing a qualifying Live Dealer Blackjack game would have a 20% Contribution Rate.

Two money bag icons indicate different contribution rates: 'At 100% Contribution Rate: $15,000, Games: Most Slots, Rocket, Keno, Virtual Sports' and 'At 20% Contribution Rate: $75,000, Games: Blackjack, Other Table Games, Live Dealer Games, Roulette, & Select Slots*'. At the bottom, a calendar icon with stars around it is noted with 'Play Through Period: 7 days (168 hours)'. The asterisk signifies special conditions apply to select slots. The background is black with icons and text in white and yellow.

    • See FAQ #1, “What is a Contribution Rate" above for more information.

If you fulfill the playthrough requirement within seven (7) calendar days (168 hours) of receiving the bonus, any remaining bonus funds become withdrawable cash. If you don't meet the requirement in this time, any wagered portion of your initial deposit, remaining bonus funds, and winnings from the bonus will expire and be forfeited.

What happens to my funds if I don’t meet the play through requirements or decide to forfeit the Casino Deposit Bonus?

If you don't meet the playthrough requirements before the period ends, you will lose:

  • Any wagered portion of your original deposit.
  • Any remaining Casino Bonus Funds.
  • Any winnings tied to the forfeited Casino Deposit Bonus promotion.

Players may decide to forfeit their Casino Deposit Bonus and remove themselves from the promotion at any time.

Forfeiture of the Casino Deposit Bonus will also result in the loss of any wagered portion of the original deposit, any remaining Casino Bonus Funds, and any winnings tied to the forfeited Casino Deposit Bonus.

  • A forfeiture isn’t reversible and no exceptions will be made.

As an example only: You opt into a Casino Deposit Bonus with a 50% deposit match up to $1,500 and you deposit $3,000.

If you wagered $50 on Slots (which has a 100% contribution rate) and won $100:

1. $50 is deducted from your $3,000 deposit, leaving you with $2,950.

2. If you decide to forfeit the Casino Deposit Bonus, you'll lose the $1,500 in Casino Bonus Funds.

3. You'll still get back your $2,950 original deposit.

4. You'll also keep the $100 in winnings from your original deposit.

What if I play a game that does not contribute 100% toward the playthrough requirement?

If playing a game that doesn’t contribute 100% toward the playthrough requirement, the specified percentage, 20% for example, will count towards the playthrough requirement.

  • As an example only: If a player wagers $100 on Live Dealer Blackjack, only 20% ($20) of the wager would contribute towards the playthrough requirement.

Below, a money bag with a '20%' label explains the '20% Contribution Rate: 20% of $100 equals $20'. The background is black with the icons and text displayed in white and yellow, ensuring high visibility.

  • Important Note: Any games with a 0% contribution rate will not contribute toward the playthrough requirement for a Casino Deposit Bonus. Any winnings earned from a 0% contribution rate game would be considered locked winnings until the playthrough requirement is met.

How does a Casino Deposit Bonus play through the funds on my account?

Casino Deposit Bonuses will always play through the funds in the following order:

  1. Original deposit,
  2. Winnings won from wagers with the original deposit.
  3. Casino Bonus Funds.

Any winnings are locked to the Casino Deposit Bonus until the total playthrough requirement is met.

  • As an example only: The Casino Deposit Bonus is a 50% deposit match up to $1,500 with a 10x playthrough multiplier. You deposit $3,000 and receive a 50% Casino Bonus match of $1,500 in Casino Bonus Funds.

The funds would be played through in the following order:

  1. Original deposit of $3,000.
  2. Any winnings tied to the original deposit.
  3.  $1,500 in Casino Bonus Funds.

Any winnings won from the Casino Bonus Funds are locked (meaning can’t be withdrawn) until the total playthrough requirement ($1,500) is met (if playing 100% contribution rate games). Playing games that contribute less than 100% will result in higher playthrough requirements.

An infographic detailing the order of play through the funds for a casino's deposit bonus, presented in four steps. Step 1 shows a graphic of a fan of money bills, with the caption 'Original Deposit: $3,000.' Step 2 depicts a money bag with a star, accompanied by the text 'Winnings tied to deposit.' Step 3 illustrates a money bag with an incoming arrow, labeled 'Rollover Casino Deposit Bonus Matched: $1,500 Casino Bonus Funds.' Finally, Step 4 presents a money bag with an outgoing arrow and a lock, with the text 'Any winnings tied to the Casino Bonus Funds are locked.' Each step is numbered and displayed on a black background with icons and text in yellow and white, visually guiding the user through the sequential order of using the funds.

Once the playthrough requirement is reached, any winnings are unlocked and can be withdrawn.

If you played through the original deposit, winnings from the original deposit, and Casino Bonus Funds to $0, the Casino Deposit Bonus offer ends.

You can continue to wager your locked winnings until you meet the playthrough requirement, at which point the winnings will unlock and can be withdrawn. However, if the promotion period ends and the playthrough requirement has not been met, the offer expires and any Casino Bonus Funds, locked Casino Bonus Fund winnings, lost wagered portion of the original deposit, and lost wagered portion of the original deposit winnings will be forfeited.

What happens if I have wagered my funds?

During this promotion, any wagered funds will be deducted from your initial deposit. Any winnings from these wagers will be considered as winnings from your initial deposit.

  • As an example only: You deposited $3,000 and received a 50% Casino Bonus match of $1,500 in Casino Bonus Funds.

Graphic showing a casino deposit bonus offer. On the left, a fan of playing cards with dollar signs, next to text 'Deposited: $3,000'. On the right, a money bag with a 50% label and an arrow pointing to the text 'Casino Deposit Bonus Matched: $1,500 Casino Bonus Funds'. Background is black with text and icons in white and yellow for visibility.

You wagered $50 on Slots and won $100. The $50 would be deducted from your $3,000 original deposit first, taking it to $2,950. The $100 in winnings are considered winnings from the original deposit.

Image depicting casino gaming financials. A playing cards icon indicates 'Funds Wagered: $50 bet on Slots'. A money bag icon signifies 'Winnings tied to deposit: $100'. Lastly, a fan of cash graphic represents 'Original Deposit: $2,950'. The background is black, and the icons and text are in white and yellow, creating a stark contrast for easy reading.

However, if you played through your original deposit AND the winnings won from your original deposit, any winnings won from Casino Bonus Funds would be locked until the playthrough is met.

  • As an example only: If you wagered both your original deposit AND the winnings won from your original deposit down to $0, you’ll then begin playing through the Casino Bonus Funds.

Then, if you wager $50 in Casino Bonus Funds on Slots, this will bring your Casino Bonus Funds balance down to $1,450. In this wager, you won $100. The $100 won would be locked Casino Bonus Fund winnings until the playthrough is met.

Next, a slot machine icon with a heart symbol indicates 'Wagered: $50 in Casino Bonus Funds on Slots'. This leads to a larger money bag icon with an arrow pointing right and 'Casino Bonus Funds: $1,450'. Lastly, a locked money bag icon denotes 'Locked Casino Bonus Funds winnings: $100'. The icons are in yellow and white, and the background is black.

Can I opt into more than one Casino Deposit Bonus?

Yes, players can opt into more than one Casino Deposit Bonus. However, each Casino Deposit Bonus will require separate deposits.

Players also need to complete the playthrough of the first Casino Deposit Bonus before the playthrough would contribute to the next Casino Deposit Bonus offer.
